MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research, preferably at a consulting agency
  • Experience with a variety of quantitative research methods, such as large-scale surveys, log analysis, regression analysis, behavioral clustering, multivariate testing, and basic statistics
  • Experience with a variety of industry-centered qualitative research methods, such as semi-structured interviews, contextual inquiries, ethnography, usability studies, diary studies, and unmoderated remote studies
  • Experience planning and executing complex research projects
  • Experience managing time and prioritizing tasks across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with survey design using technologies such as Qualtrics, Alchemer, UserZoom, Google Forms, etc.
  • Experience working with data in multi-method programs
  • Experience working with descriptive and basic inferential statistics
  • Experience with Q Research, DisplayR, R, SPSS, or Stata
  • Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives
  • Effective communication skills with experience presenting to diverse audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human behavior related field (HCI, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Computer Science, etc.) and 3+ years of relevant experience, or MA/MS/PhD in related field and 2+ years’ relevant experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE & IMPACT

As a Mixed Methods User Experience Researcher (UXR), you will be a key member of our quantitative and qualitative research teams, supporting research execution for our Fortune 500 clients. The successful candidate will partner and collaborate with our clients to execute full research programs and is comfortable flexing between different mixes of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. You will apply current analysis techniques to ensure client business objectives are met, while effectively communicating the results of research findings to all levels of client stakeholders. Example research methods include a mix of custom surveys, segmentation/persona research, MaxDiff/Kano, one-on-one usability studies (remote and in-person), online and in-person focus groups, exploratory research, diary studies, and quantitative benchmarking studies.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a UX researcher who is driven, a creative problem solver, and an excellent collaborator and communicator. You have experience conducting, analyzing, and reporting on a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods and love to geek out about all things research. You know when and how to apply various research methods to measure users’ attitudes, motivations, and factors underlying their behaviors, in order to address our client’s biggest questions. You thrive in a home-based work environment, and you are comfortable accommodating East and West Coast working hours as needed.

MIXED METHOD RESEARCHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute research that addresses behaviors and attitudes
  • Effectively apply appropriate research methodologies based on business objectives and research goals
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of methods and interpret analysis through the lens of UX, HCI, and social sciences
  • Generate insights that drive tactical and strategic decisions
  • Communicate insights in creative and compelling ways
  • Collaborate with client teams, internal teams, vendors, and technology providers
  • Partner with qualitative and quantitative UX researchers on mixed-methods programs
  • Provide thought leadership in UX research
  • Contribute to research team strategy within the organization
  • Mentor other researchers, and maintain a high standard of work
