Your Role and Responsibilities
* This is Fixed Term Hire for 1 Year *
In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
We are seeking a skilled Mobile App Developer to join our growing IBM team. You will be part of our agile scrum teams responsible for designing, developing, and leveraging Xamarin / .NET for cross-platform app development to contribute towards our new innovative solutions and software programs for our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of mobile application development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

Your roles & responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms, with experience working with Xamarin / .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI).
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement user-friendly designs.
  • Collaborate with others to identify and progress improvements in software delivery and support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Identify and resolve application bottlenecks and bugs.
  • Integrate mobile applications with back-end services via RESTful APIs.
  • Test, debug, update and improve software to ensure quality, security, and value.
  • Provide technical advice to solve problems
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends in mobile development.
  • Guide less experienced staff by reviewing their work and providing feedback to build team capabilityPlease note that you will be required to work on-site up to 3 days a week for this role (hiring location : QLD Regional)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mobile app development, with at least 3 years focusing on .NET/MAUI, Xamarin.Forms and Xamarin.Native.
  • Strong knowledge of C# and MAUI/.NET framework.
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency in building cross-platform applications for iOS and Android using Xamarin, with experience in mobile application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support).

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least Australian Baseline Security Clearance (or eligible for Baseline)
  • Experience working with government agencies is a plus
  • Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) for mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Experience in working with agile methodologies.
  • UI/UX Design Sensibility: Understanding of basic principles of user interface and user experience design.
