Description:

WHO WE ARE

Since 2013, People.Health has transformed the way public health and healthcare organizations operate. Our small, dedicated team of developers, designers, and project managers creates software that supports large-scale health initiatives for State and Local Health Departments, Federal agencies, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and other entities dedicated to managing the health of underserved and vulnerable populations.

WHAT WE NEED

We are looking for an experienced Mobile App Designer to contribute to our Virtual Education Center (VEC) initiative. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling mobile experiences on both Android and iOS platforms, allowing patients to effortlessly navigate and engage with health information. Using your UX/UI design expertise, you will work closely with our development team to create seamless experiences that allow users to explore a comprehensive library of medical content, use symptom checkers, and prepare for appointments. This position will take place in a fast-paced environment, requiring rapid immersion into design tasks and the ability to deliver high-quality work quickly.

  • Utilize Figma to design high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and developers to define requirements and create design solutions that align with both user needs and business objectives.
  • Employ innovative research techniques, such as internal usability testing and feedback loops, to validate design choices and ensure the app effectively meets the needs of patients with diverse health literacy levels.
  • Offer guidance and develop platform-specific design components and systems for iOS and Android, aligning with VEC’s existing MUI-based design system to maintain consistency in UI elements, typography, color schemes, and iconography across both platforms.
  • Ability to build, evolve, and sustain the design system, along with its documentation, to ensure scalability, efficiency, and smooth collaboration across teams.
  • Focus on accessibility and inclusivity throughout the design process to support patients with varying abilities and backgrounds, collaborating with our 508 compliance accessibility expert to ensure full adherence to standards.
  • Continuously refine designs based on user feedback, analytics, and changing business needs to enhance the app’s functionality and overall user experience.
  • Help shape the future of healthcare education by creating a mobile experience that makes trusted medical information easily accessible to patients.
  • This position offers opportunities for growth within the business and could expand to include a variety of design projects beyond the mobile app. As the scope of the work grows, the role will evolve to encompass additional design responsibilities.
