Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled HGV/LGV Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy and light goods vehicles. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our customers’ fleet, contributing to our commitment to high-quality service.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as an HGV/LGV Technician or similar role is essential
  • Industry standard qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQs
  • IRTEC accreditation is desirable
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • HGV class 2 driving licence
  • Familiarity with equipment repair techniques and use of hand tools
  • Experience operating and repairing tail lift’s is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills

    Pay: £20.00-£28.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics of HGVs & LGVs to identify faults and issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various mechanical and electrical components.
  • Utilise hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery to assemble and repair parts.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken.
  • Must be able to use computer software for reporting and diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment.
  • Assist in the training of junior technicians as required.
