Job Title: Mobile Software Engineer in Test, Genesys Cloud
Department & Team: Genesys Cloud Platform Applications Team
Job Summary
At Genesys we are on a mission to deliver the concept called Experience as a Service. We build products to enable companies to connect via multiple channels (voice, video, social, etc…), and to provide context when engaging with their clients, making these connections meaningful, fast, and memorable.
We do this via a SaaS (Software as a Service) product called Genesys-Cloud, which supports 1.5M users making over BILLION(s) of API (application programming interfaces) calls daily, enabling around 2B minutes of phone calls monthly, and hosting 80B interactions yearly.
To help agents on the system be productive, we provide them with mobile solutions to quickly connect to knowledge and to each other, allowing their clients to tap into the combined knowledge and empathy of our client’s workforce. As we are enhancing our chat solution to evolve into a knowledge hub and smart assistant, we are looking for a talented mobile engineer with a keen eye on quality to help us build delightful features that work as expected.
As a Mobile Software Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:
-

Take part in development initiatives across the various development organizations of Genesys Cloud with the quality hat in mind

• Design, build and maintain test jobs in an automated pipeline
• Organize and document bug-hunts for major releases
• Ensure that our Android & IOS applications are on-par in features and properly handle exceptional scenarios such as degraded or unavailable network, faulty services, missing permissions, etc…
• Ensure that the solutions are in alignment with the Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
• Working in a “no-ops” model where we own the full Software Delivery Lifecycle
• Stay current with industry developments and current trends
• Understand & comply with PCI (Payment Card Industry) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and other standards
• Communicate regularly with colleagues and management to take up new deliverables
• Participate in our QA Guild to ensure our testing strategies and tools are aligned

You will work in a fast-paced, startup culture, where our environment is one of continuous change, innovation, and experimentation. You will gain experience in how backend services are built using established and cutting-edge technologies like Java, Python, Kafka, Redis, Golang, and various AWS (Amazon Web Services) Services to build on our micro-service Cloud architecture. You can see how these solutions are shaping up for a release and help us verify the quality and understand its performance characteristics under high load.
Successful Mobile Software Engineer in Test will:
-

Test our mobile applications developed over an API first platform interface backed by highly scalable micro services.

• Ensure our applications are compliant with various levels of accessibility requirements
• Develop deep experience with Android, iOSand AWS technologies in a CI/CD microservice environment.
• Develop a strong understanding of the requirements of regulations, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP among others.
• Maintain a sharp awareness of recent technologies and assess their usefulness to the testing strategies and approaches of your team and your guild
• Demonstrate high levels of curiosity and keep up to date on emerging trends.

Minimum Requirements:
-

Experience with test automation of IOS and/or Android mobile applications using UI testing / unit testing approaches

• Experience with REST APIs (application programming interfaces)
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following automation frameworks
• Appium
• XCUITest
• Espresso/Compose Test
• Experience with agile development and accounting tools such as JIRA
• Experience with documenting designs, test matrices, plans and executions in tools such as Confluence
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• A curious mindset

Experience with the following is a plus:
-

Experience with Android Studio and/or Xcode

• Understanding of mobile interface Guidelines
• Experience with mobile device cloud farms
• Experience with CI/CD and the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Experience with build & package management tools (Gradle, Cocoa Pods, Swift Package Manager)
• Experience with accessibility tools such as Axe
