The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Mobile Youth Worker, at our Western Australia Divisional Headquarters. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS award, level 4.

You will successfully

  • Provide with a holistic approach that includes their physical, emotional and spiritual care
  • Effective relationships are established with young people and key stakeholders to enhance outcomes for young people leaving care
  • Encourage and enhance young people connections to the service and wider community
  • Accurate and up to date client records and data is to be maintained for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems
  • work within the young people identified support systems and alongside all stakeholders to enhance outcomes for young people
  • Implement safe work practises both in the workplace and in the community when working outside of the office

You will have

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, social science, community services is preferred
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment and working with youth at risk (at least 2 years desirable)
  • The skills to engage and build relationships with young people who have experienced trauma
  • A current and valid WA Working with Children Card
  • A current WA Drivers licence
  • Department of Child Protection and Family support Criminal History check. (Form 395 obtained by TSA)
  • A willingness to undergo a National PoliceCheck
