Description:

DESCRIPTION

Leidos is hiring a Modeling and Simulation Engineer with an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The Modeling and Simulation Engineer will collaborate with Leidos and government team members as well as technical engineers and scientists solving challenging questions about highly complex systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s in CS, CE, EE or a related field.
  • Experience in working at NASIC with Intelligence Community models, all-source analysis, radars, aircraft, missiles, space vehicles, Simulink, and Simulink Coder.
  • Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL), and Veralog software experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 4+ years of applicable experience or MS and 2+ years of related experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) techniques.
  • Experience with PNT and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
  • Experience in C++ and Python.
  • Excellent English language writing/briefing skills. Strong emphasis on writing capability.
  • Great people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines in a mixed government-contractor environment

Responsibilities:

  • Design logical models of space and ground systems for use in an AF/DoD environment.
  • Perform tasks related to the integration of system models (radars, aircraft, missiles, command and control) into a large, many-on-many, real-time, C++ based simulation environment.
  • Participate in individual projects and small teams of government and contractor personnel.
  • Test and evaluate models to ensure functionality before submitting to the customer.
  • Prepare ad hoc documents, analytic reports, and multi-media products.
  • Work to design, develop, test, and document simulations related to Precision, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
