Riverside Research is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to advise, assist and support the United States Space Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. This individual will support process development and documentation in the development and deployment of space and counter-space models supporting policy makers, the operations community, and the acquisitions community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice, assistance, and support to the National Space Intelligence Center on the development of modeling and simulation processes to support organizational activities.
  • In collaboration with a team, develop and coordinate processes and training documentation in line with Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and industry standards.
  • Assess current processes, data, and supporting capabilities to identify new, integrated capabilities for the digitization of the National Space Intelligence Center mission.
  • Advise on the potential benefits and uses of advanced tools and bring awareness to related efforts across USSF functions while fostering collaboration and streamlining integration of NSIC developed models.
  • Support integration of vendor solutions to meet government specifications by conducting analysis, inspection, demonstration, or tests, as appropriate.
  • Provide general feedback, assessments, and demonstration of tools and practices to support M&S activities.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the customer and other mission partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in modeling and simulation
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Simulation environments: AFSIM, NGTS, JSE, STK or relevant tools
  • Generating Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models and tools
  • Generating Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and tools
  • C++, Java, MATLAB, SIMULINK, SysML or similar programming language
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Experience composing documentation, reports, and briefings
  • Ability to manage time independently without direct supervision

Desired

  • Previous experience with mission level modeling and simulation
  • Modeling and simulation experience related to one or more of the following: sensors, radar, electronic warfare, comm links and protocols, space, and satellite systems
  • Statistical analysis experience
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and processes supporting the digitization, integration, and optimization of processes, system components, infrastructure requirements, user experience design features, and test and evaluation methods.
  • Knowledge of complex information technology analysis concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities to evaluate the feasibility of proposed new systems, applications, and tools and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure and digital environments.
  • Knowledge of data science principles, techniques, and tools, including data-driven algorithms, statistical methods, data analytics, data modeling and simulation, data visualization, IT systems, and emerging technologies (artificial intelligence and machine learning).

Global Comp: $85,000- $ 128,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
