Description
SAIC is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analyst to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program at the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa (U-A) Warfare Center (UAWC) in RAF Lakenheath, UK.
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards that support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners facilitating all-domain Warfighter training across the full spectrum of conflict.
The role of this position is to conduct the initial setup and subsequent continued operations of a new FENIX (F-35 Emulated Non-OFP Interoperability Xperience) site in RAF Lakenheath, UK. This site’s mission is to enable F-35 all-domain joint and coalition tactical training utilizing the FENIX simulator to US, allied, and partner-nation warfighters spanning the United States European Command (USEUCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Duties of the Modeling & Simulation Analyst will include:

  • Provide M&S services and support for all federations, models, and systems in preparation for, during, and after events, including but not limited to training of augmentation personnel; testing; configuration management; functional/operational support; system integration; troubleshooting/debugging; system software and hardware support; and database development, modification, and maintenance (including but not limited to unit, terrain, visual and entity databases).
  • As used herein, “events” refers to all activities that require M&S services or support to include but are not limited to exercises; mission rehearsals; threat, functional, operational, risk reduction and integration tests; and training missions and events.
  • Identify and submit innovative M&S solutions to enhance existing capabilities.
  • Review test plans and define/develop test benches for software libraries.
  • Ensure models and simulations comply with UAWC Information Assurance and network security protocols.
  • Provide M&S support and expertise in the following domain/mission areas (potentially at multiple locations/instances simultaneously):
