Description:

The Modern Workplace and Cloud Specialist position is a permanent full-time job opportunity that will oversee the seamless operation and strategic enhancement of our cloud-based and modern workplace solutions. You report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and collaborate closely with IT and security teams to ensure our systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bondable Criminal record check; enhanced reliability security clearance.
  • College or university degree in information technology, system administration, computer science, or a closely related field and 5 years of equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience as a System Administrator, or in a similar role with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Certifications in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview; System Administration and IT certifications are an asset.
  • Working knowledge of service management solution (e.g., Datto Autotask)
  • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies relating to VLAN, VPN and other IP related services such as DNS in a Windows environment
  • Experience in securing and hardening operating systems, networks, databases, and applications is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM best practices, especially in relation to Microsoft 365 services.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with PowersShell, for Microsoft administrative tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, punctual, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage a Microsoft 365 tenant, ensuring its optimal performance and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Entra for identity and access management, ensuring secure and efficient access to resources.
  • Proactively manage security and threats using Microsoft 365 Defender, including setting up Defender for Endpoint, Office 365, Identity, and Cloud Apps.
  • Oversee compliance and information governance using Microsoft Purview, ensuring data is managed and protected according to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the Microsoft 365 services, addressing any service disruptions or performance issues and maintain documentation.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine Microsoft 365 administrative tasks, including tenant builds and Defender deployments.
  • Provide advanced support for Microsoft 365-related issues, utilizing diagnostic tools to resolve complex problems.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure the Microsoft 365 environment aligns with the overall IT strategy and security posture.
