Description:
NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.
This state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in Canada and is being built with the goal of becoming the foremost battery hub in North America. REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to use various computer systems including excel, PowerPoint and specific NSE programs
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts which include walking, bending, twisting, lifting and other physical requirements
- Must be able to work swing shifts and on a 7-day rotational schedule.
- Driving forklift
- Using pallet jacks – manual and electric
- Manually moving material over 50lbs
- Lift material over 70lbs with 2 person lift
- Continuous walking & standing (8-12 hours per day with required breaks)
- Working autonomously and completing tasks based on specific job assignments by supervision and management
- Work at a pace that meets demand of the lines
- Required to be able to do all jobs per assignment once trained
- Adhere to all safety rules
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong communication skills within a team and departments
- History and demonstration on problem solving skills
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Previous forklift experience
- Previous experience with automation lines
- Previous experience with GMES or HMI

Responsibilities:
- Will be required to work on multiple tasks based on standardized instruction and training
- Will be working with the production technician team and will be trained and required to function across all jobs within the department
- Will be required to wear all PPE and additional items as required at all times and follow all safety regulations
- Follow and plant policies and procedures
- Will be required to complete all 5S activities daily
- Will be required to support inventory counting
- Will be required to operator a forklift and move goods/material (for outbound forklift, Inbound forklift)
- Will be required to learn and use various production systems (GMES, HMI controls) as well as PDAs and scanners
- Will be required to complete quality inspections and proper decisions on part status using all required quality check tools.
- Engage in, support and drive continuous improvement
- Will be required to respond to and correct basic automation and manual problems and escalate as needed.
- Will be required to manually move material including drums of raw material.
- Will be required to follow all requirements and rules for work attendance
