Responsibilities:
The Money Vertical Editor is responsible for overseeing the multi-media content strategy, editing and all aspect of publishing for the financial section of a new personal finance vertical on the Irish Independent. This role involves writing and managing other writers, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of financial content, and driving audience engagement through insightful and timely articles, video and audio content. The Money Vertical Editor will provide readers with insights and advice on budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, and financial planning.
This role will require the successful candidate to work a minimum of 3 days per week from our Talbot Street offices.
Role Responsibilities (Overview)
- Content Strategy: develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy for the money vertical, aligning with the overall editorial vision and business goals.
- Team Management: lead and mentor a team of financial writers and contributors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality content.
- Editorial Oversight: review and edit articles for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards. Ensure all content is well-researched and fact-checked.
- Audience Engagement: analyse audience metrics to understand reader preferences and adjust content strategies accordingly. Foster community engagement through interactive content and social media.
- Collaboration: work closely with the wider editorial teams, marketing, and product development to ensure cohesive content delivery and promotion.
- Trend Analysis: stay updated on the latest financial news, trends, and regulations to ensure content is current and relevant.
- SEO Optimisation: implement SEO best practices to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings for financial content.
- Promotion: be a brand ambassador for the money vertical through media appearances and other external engagements.
