Description:

We are looking for a “Site Reliability Engineer” with extensive cloud knowledge and skills to work alongside other professionals in this area. You will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and securing a cloud platform. You are also expected to maintain the full complement of Observability, Infrastructure as Code tools used within the Vancity Cloud Engineering team.
This is a full-time, 6-month contract role (with an anticipated end date of May 2025) that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
The Site Reliability Engineer will be periodically on-call to address urgent network issues and ensure continuous system performance.

  • Full stack developer - who has worked in a Dev/Ops team and are looking for more experience with coding around monitoring, scalability and resiliency.

  • Diagnostic Information Gathering - you have the ability to identify the information needed to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and use skillful questioning to draw out the information.
