THE OPPORTUNITY

CWB’s Optimum Mortgage team is currently seeking term full time Mortgage Underwriter to underwrite for our Broker channel! Our Mortgage Underwriter’s are proud of their Resolution and Customer Service badges earned, they are consistently focused on personal and professional growth. A successful candidate with CWB will display evaluation skills of risk using established criteria and current legislation guidelines. This role reports to the Manager, Mortgage Underwriting.

What you’ve done

• Education. Post secondary in commerce, finance or business or equivalent experience
• Understanding. Minimum two years of ‘Alt A’ or A underwriting/ lending
• Expertise. Understanding of Insurer (CMHC and Sagen) guidelines
• Skills. Solid computer savvy and application skills (Word, Excel etc.)
• Relationship Builder. Outstanding and effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Demonstrated communication via email and telephone. Adjudicate Broker originated ‘A’ and ‘Alt A’ credit applications
• Emphasis. Steady ability to thrive within a sophisticated and diverse organizational environment - balancing multiple tasks simultaneously with composure and humour, under pressure
• Time Management. Attentive to preserving efficient turnaround time with a strong attention to detail, in processing all documentation, applications and ensuring referral sources are receiving exceptional communicatio
