Boeing Commercial Airlines has an exciting opportunity for a Motive Equipment Operator B to join our team in Portland, OR.
Join our team as a Motive Equipment Operator and become an integral part of our dynamic organization. As a Motive Equipment Operator, you will operate a diverse range of vehicles, including fork lift trucks with impressive lift capacities of up to 15,000 pounds, light duty trucks, industrial trucks, and tractors. Your expertise will be crucial in efficiently moving, positioning, and aligning parts, equipment, tools, and materials. You will showcase your skills by safely maneuvering scaffolding, power generators, and other essential equipment to and from various plant areas.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience operating forklifts (under 15,000-lb. lift capacity) or related equipment
  • 1+ years of experience do you have moving and handling large loads and equipment.
  • Ability to possess and maintain a valid driving license.
  • Forklift operator certification required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $19.00 - $42.55

Responsibilities:

  • Manually pick, sort, load and unload, small packages up to ten feet long weighing up to thirty-five pounds onto trucks, trailers or dollies.
  • Secure and protect all loads using tarps, covers, slings, cables and ropes.
  • Operate small cargo truck to deliver small packages throughout site.
  • Operate tractor to do the following: A) Pull loose freight (rolling stock) from warehouse to required location or from factory to warehouse to be transported B) Run shuttle route throughout factory areas to supply needed material, parts, or equipment to manufacturing locations, as necessary. Calculate safe load requirements (e.g., weight, size) prior to lifting with forklift truck so as not to exceed equipment capacity. Operate forklift to do the following: A) Load and unload materials and/or equipment. B) Load and unload factory shuttle. C) Pick up full trash containers, empty and return them to designated locations. D) Move scaffolds and generators.
  • Operate trash compactor after emptying trash containers.
  • Read shipping instruction tag to determine where to take load or which shuttle to transfer it to.
  • Couple, uncouple and/or use overhead crane, to move associated equipment, as necessary to make deliveries.
  • Operate sweeper to clean transportation aisles, as required.
  • Keep vehicles clean and perform routine mechanical inspections of equipment (e.g., checking fuel, oil, water levels of motive equipment, refill), as required.
  • Inspect vehicle for physical damage and report, as necessary to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Fill out and turn in forms (e.g., weekly trip logs, metrics collection forms, inspection forms), as required.
  • Contact lead, supervisor and/or dispatcher when assistance is needed (e.g., if there is an accident or any other problem arises.)
