WORK ARRANGEMENT
Remote- This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to join our elite team. GM Motorsports supports NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA and is currently pursuing an entry into Formula 1. As a Structural Analysis Engineer who will work with the design group by performing finite element analysis (FEA) and optimization to achieve weight efficient robust designs. You will prepare reports and present to the team, as well as scrutinize load cases for design and analysis purposes.
YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s or Masters’s degree Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
- 15+ number of years of automotive, motorsports or aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA or 3DX) FEA tools (HyperMesh, Abaqus, Laminate Tools).
- Strong understanding of composite material properties and manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvements.
- Ability to handle multiple programs efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Passion for motorsports and a desire to contribute to the team’s success.

Responsibilities:
The ability to work collaboratively with the various program team members will be a critical skill for this position. We will expect you to be capable of thinking analytically, be client-oriented, and be highly structured with excellent relationships and communicative skills in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to multi-task in a dynamic ever-changing environment and bring a strong work ethic and integrity. Experience with CATIA, Laminate Tools, Altair HyperMesh is required, experience with 3DX and nTop would be beneficial. The knowledge of composite materials, part design and layup experience is of value . The ability to work proficiently with solids, surfaces, complex assemblies, and drawings is desired. Position is open to international hiring.
