JOB SUMMARY:

The MP&L Supervisor will be responsible for receiving and shipping goods, ensuring our customers receive timely and high-level service, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Shipping Supervisor will also oversee the submission of required customer, supplier, and plant reports.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of inventory control, operations, and/or materials management.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck and holds valid lift truck license.
  • Good PC Skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with scheduling, shipping, and receiving for a manufacturing facility, preferably within automotive.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for precision, spotting errors and inconsistencies.
  • Ability to handle fluctuating demands, with highly efficient planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job’s key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise all shipment of orders to designation by checking accurate quantity and that it meets company standards and policies.
  • Utilize our ERP system to manage incoming and outgoing orders and transfers.
  • Create labels and forms as required and complete appropriate documentation where necessary.
  • Daily oversight and direction to the shipping and receiving team to ensure operational objectives are being met.
  • Manage the receiving, shipping, distribution, and storage of all products and supplies that come in and out of the plant.
  • Report any non-conforming products to appropriate personnel.
  • Manage and assign workload accordingly to team to ensure shipping and receiving is completed efficiently to meet production goals and customer needs.
  • Communicate any delays or variances in inbound and outbound freight to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics for the entire plant.
  • Identify problems and concerns on quality, productivity, or safety related matters.
  • Ensure all 5S processes are followed.
  • Work in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.Other duties and tasks as assigned or required.

  • Work in compliance with ABC Standards, EHS Policies, Local, Regional and Federal acts, bylaws, and regulations.
  • Report any spills or leaks immediately.
  • Use personal protective equipment and clothing as required.
  • All Employees shall follow Site Workplace Safety Guidelines.
  • No Employee shall remove or make ineffective any protective device and must report missing or damaged protective devices.
  • No Employee shall use or operate any equipment, machine, or device in a manner that may endanger themself or another worker, including the operation of equipment, machine, or device without proper training or certifications where required.
  • No Employee shall engage in horseplay or unsafe acts.
  • Employees must immediately report any hazard(s), unsafe act/condition, near miss or incident regardless of severity to their Group Leader.
  • All Employees must maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace in compliance with the substance abuse policy.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make sure workers maintain compliance with ABC Standards, EHS Policies, and Local, Regional, Federal acts, bylaws, and regulations.
  • Make sure that workers use prescribed protective equipment and devices.
  • Advise workers of potential and actual hazards
  • Provide workers with the necessary resources for the protection of themselves and their colleagues.
  • Take every reasonable precaution in the circumstances for the protection of workers.
