Description:

THE BUSINESS

Mr Murdoch’s - a casual hangout located in the middle of Auckland. Find us on Fort street and roll up to the rooftop bar where you can kick back, relax and have a laugh. The pints are cold, the prices and cheap and we can guarantee you a good night! Formally known as Fort Street Union, our bar has recently undergone a makeover like none other. Pizza, pints and pool - what else could you want from a rooftop bar?

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

You will be required to work as efficiently as possible, in a busy team environment, so great communication skills will give you instant bonus points. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to step up in their cooking career whilst working alongside an awesome team!

What we are looking for is:

  • A passion for people and a drive to create memorable experiences
  • A professional and friendly approach
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • A fun and positive attitude
  • NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
  • At least three years of relevant experience

Responsibilities:

We’re getting busier, and as such need some more help in the kitchen! This is a Part-Time position ideal for a passionate, hard working individual, with a commitment to high standards and an interest in learning and developing their skills in the kitchen.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Completing ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costs
  • Managing rosters and wage costs
  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
  • Understanding the food control plan and understanding the cleaning standards and processes within the kitchen
  • Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled prior to service to ensure no food prep is required to be completed during service
  • Ensuring clear communication between the kitchen, front of house and head office
