JOB SUMMARY

The MRO Clerk will be part of our Maintenance team. This position is responsible for requesting, stocking and organizing the Maintenance department’s spare parts crib. Inventory is managed via an electronic maintenance management system and requests are submitted to Purchasing department for the actual purchase.
This position may develop into a buying position in the future.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 1+ years sourcing experience in MRO buying.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment materials and components.
  • Experience with setting-up, and maintaining a parts room is a plus.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Proficient computer technology skills; Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills. CMMS experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and results driven work ethic.
  • Strong analytical and problem-resolution ability.
  • Organization and time management skills are a must.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires some standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must often lift and/or move items over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for requesting parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
  • Lead the restocking of spare parts through all phases; requesting, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Ensure all parts and materials within parts cage are orderly and kept to the highest housekeeping standards. Perform space management activities to ensure safe and orderly storage of materials in conjunction with good material handling and inventory control methodologies.
  • Execute cycle counts to verify physical inventories as required. Adjust min/max levels as needed to improve and refine inventory levels.
  • Forecast purchasing needs based on historical consumption data.
  • Build, develop and manage professional relationships with key suppliers and customers, building effective partnerships.
  • Request materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved rates.
  • Track, expedite and document the status of all outstanding requests; provide periodic updates/reports.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods with users, vendors and others. Root cause, and update process(s) to prevent future occurrences.
  • Continually develop expertise to support growth for company and new projects.
