REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years in a planning and estimating function in aircraft heavy maintenance
  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with min. 15 years’ experience preferred
  • A strong understanding of manhours vs skill set (workforce composition)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • A strong understanding of operational processes and procedures
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to identify any potential delays and high-risk areas to projects
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent prioritizing and multitasking skills
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of all Maintenance Manuals, AD’s, and SB’s
  • In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Technical Documents and Parts
  • Proficient use of Lawson M3, My Boeing Fleet and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and detail
  • Flexible and adaptable

Responsibilities:

Planning / Estimating oversight

  • Receives all customer requests for services
  • Logs all customer requests for services & assigns QE numbers for tracking.
  • Works with customers & contract leads to gain a complete understanding of all project requirements
  • Engages stakeholders and leads the process to determine ‘go or no go’ based on the bid strategy, approval authority, profit, risk, fishing bid, future work, T&M versus fixed bid, risk for buffer, specific billing requirements, specific procedures, audit calculations, etc.
  • Assigns projects to MRO Planner / Estimator based on capacity and experience with specific project
  • Reviews estimates produced by Estimators and priced by MRO Contracts Coordinator to ensure details, accuracy, span & assumptions are acceptable and price is developed accordingly.
  • Validates sizing sheets, NR ratios and summary pages
  • Acts as a communication link between customer and internal stakeholders
  • Identifies and communicates any potential issues to schedules for resolution
  • Sets priorities for Pre-planning projects and ensures accomplishment of tasks
  • Ensures accurate and timely package handover to applicable Hangar team
  • Supports communication and sharing of work packages & data between BD & internal departments

Customer Relations Management

  • Acts as the focal point for all maintenance customer requirements
  • Ensures continuity and timely customer service
  • Acts as a communication link between customer and internal stakeholders
  • Attends stakeholder review meetings as required
  • Develops a network of customers for the pursuit of future work
  • Maintains relationships with customers to generate industry intelligence and inform KF pursuit strategies

Maintenance schedule

  • Responsible for the master third party maintenance schedule
  • Maintains the Capacity Planning schedule and works with stakeholders on availability of maintenance slots, hangar space, manpower and other resources as required
  • Ensures efficient hangar loading, taking into consideration ground time, labour capacity, tooling, and other required services

People Management

  • Manages and controls human resources required to execute work
  • Responsible to ensure employee development and provides feedback and mentorship
  • Provides daily trouble shooting / problem solving
  • Completes Performance Management processes and related pay increases
  • Manages timekeeping, including monitoring vacation requests and attendance, addressing when required

Continuous Improvement

  • Develops data analysis tools to improve system efficiency
  • Manages the planning database and ensures frequent and timely updates
  • Builds and maintains template for common project planning tool
  • Standardizes and maintains the bidding process
  • Communicates and presents customer feedback internally
  • Develops a collaborative environment with Maintenance Operations to improve the customer experience
  • Contributes to post-RFP submission reviews to improve process for future inputs
  • Improves future quotes

Other

  • Assists Senior Manager Business Development and Director of Business Development with any other duties or projects as applicable
  • Maintains Customer support and communication throughout projects
