Description:

BearingPoint Ireland is recruiting an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our Managed Service team. This role involves troubleshooting application issues, providing timely resolutions, and ensuring seamless functionality of IT systems. The Application Support Engineer will collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver exceptional support services and enhance overall user experience. You should have strong communications and language skills in the English language (presenting, documenting, workshopping) and excel at building rapport with clients, other internal support teams and external service providers. You should be a responsible process-oriented person who can work on your own initiative.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in IT application support roles.
  • Proven customer service skills to support and assist end-users effectively.
  • Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Experience with incident management processes and tools.
  • Strong understanding of various software applications and their functionalities.
  • Experience in shell scripting, bash, and SQL.
  • Experience with Application Servers e.g. Apache Tomcat, Oracle Weblogic.
  • Knowledge in Enterprise DBMS, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and their interaction with applications.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools e.g. Nagios, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy etc.
  • An understanding of basic data security principles to ensure applications are used securely and sensitive information is protected.
  • An understanding of containerisation is desirable.
  • Garda Vetting is required for this role.
