MSO METER CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN
Golden Horseshoe Metering Systems (GHMS), part of the OEC group of Companies, provides comprehensive metering services to utility customers looking to provide individual suite metering for multi-dwelling retrofit and new construction projects. About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic individual with exceptional customer service and technical skills. The MSO Meter Calibration Technician is accountable for the cleaning, calibration, programming and maintenance of residential and commercial meters. As a designated Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI), the MSO Meter Calibration Technician is also responsible for maintaining the MSO accreditation program and associated Quality Assurance system in compliance with Measurement Canada regulations.
Duties include:
- Be a Brand ambassador - enable, engage, encourage and exemplify the behaviours and attitudes of Lead, Innovate and Commit to Excellence
- Innovate – engage colleagues and find new ways to work and win
- Clean, calibrate and program a variety of residential and commercial electricity meters
- Create certificates for all verified meters
- Manage inventory and shipping of client meters
- Maintain accredited Quality Assurance program and associated documentation and assist in the expansion of scope process as necessary
- Participate as QAI in Measurement Canada product and surveillance audits
- Liaison with MSO clients and schedule product shipping
- Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Golden Horseshoe Metering Systems’ Policies and Procedures. It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain applicable health and safety information from your Manager
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary diploma in Electrical or Electronic Technician or related disciple and or equivalent work experience
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory, electricity meter theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade
- Previous meter programming and calibration experience
- Quality Assurance and statistical sampling experience
- Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence with an excellent driving record
- Ability to lift up to 30kg (various metering equipment and electrical panels)
