Description:

We are looking for an experienced Multi-Area Audio Engineer to join our Communication and Publishing Department. The purpose of this role is to support the Church’s mission by producing professional audio materials and messages that invite all of God’s children to follow Jesus Christ. Working under the direction of the Presiding Bishopric, you will provide high-quality audio services for a wide variety of internal and external messaging products and experiences in multiple languages and formats.

As a key member of the Regional Broadcast Team, you will lead audio services on small to large-scale projects and ensure the highest standards of sound quality for live broadcasts, events, and other audio productions. This role requires providing services for Multi-Area or Regional needs.

  • Provide professional audio services across various projects, including:
  • Live broadcast mixing and post-production editing, mixing, and mastering.
  • Orchestral/music recording and tracking.
  • Production sound for film/video
  • Sound design for film/video, including Foley and live sound for events and theatrical productions.
  • Language recording (ADR, studio, international remote).
  • Digital asset creation and management.
  • Lead audio projects and supervise teams of 1-8 audio assistants during production.
  • Serve as a communication hub for the audio department, coordinating project details with clients, producers, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee contractors and mentor other employees within the department.
  • Maintain stewardship of audio equipment and contribute to system/workflow improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media arts, or a related field, plus 4+ years of experience in audio engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of audio specifications, time codes, frame rates, microphone placement, room acoustics, and sound-to-picture interface.
  • Proven ability to operate a wide range of professional audio systems and equipment.
  • Strong decision-making skills, especially in fast-paced environments, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with experience working professionally with senior executives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including on short notice, and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Must possess and maintain a current temple recommend and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.
  • Travel and work during evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
  • Ensure alignment with Church standards and directives, including maintaining a current temple recommend for access to related sacred resources.
  • The position homebase is in Frankfurt, Germany and frequent travel is required. Possibility to work remotely from one of Europe Central Area Countries
