The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is the implementation engine for the Private Bank’s discretionary investment business and is responsible for ensuring that portfolios are managed in accordance with client investment parameters. You will be part of a global team spanning multiple locations, including London, Geneva, Hong Kong, Luxembourg and New York.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Multi-Asset Portfolio Management - Senior Associate / Vice President in the International Private Bank, you would work with internal partners to identify and implement appropriate portfolio solutions that allow clients to meet their long-term goals. You would focus on the daily duties associated with the portfolio management of fund structures and individual client portfolios, which includes cash management, trade implementation, managing transition events, asset allocation and risk monitoring.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • At a minimum, Bachelor’s degree
  • CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management (IMC) or an equivalent designation to meet the minimum regulatory requirements to perform the necessary functions
  • Asset and/or Wealth Management experience, ideally in a portfolio management function
  • Ability to demonstrate a passion for and understanding of financial markets and investment solutions
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic and demanding environment, as well as work effectively as part of a global team
  • Aptitude to identify and minimize both investment and business risk; detail orientated and process focused
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, in conjunction with strong technology skills, including a proficiency with the main Microsoft Office applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Completion of the CFA program – Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder
  • Understanding of the regulations governing the management of UCITs fund structures
  • Ideally experience of working with multi-asset fund of funds portfolios
  • Experience in managing portfolios for both UKRND’s and UK Resident Domiciled clients
  • Understanding of the trade cycle and execution considerations associated with investing through mutual funds and ETF’s

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of the bank’s investment views consistently across portfolios, as well as involvement in creating and coordinating trade execution plans for the International Private Bank
  • Maintain knowledge of the Private Bank’s different discretionary, advisory strategies, and the approved investment vehicles, including, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, structured notes, hedge funds, and separately managed accounts
  • Maintain knowledge of each portfolio’s unique requirements and effectively translate model level asset allocations into custom portfolio management decisions
  • Monitor accounts for asset allocation deviations and model drift, realigning portfolios when required. Monitor investment vehicle selection and resulting exposures. Monitor cash and security flows, rebalancing portfolios as needed
  • Managing portfolio life cycle and transition events
  • Communicate Portfolio Management Group’s trading activity and initiatives to internal clients and partners
  • Maintain effective controls to mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance and consistency of outcomes across portfolios
