Description:

Purpose of the Role:
The SSGA Global Trading team is a multi-asset trading desk that has been developed to meet the varied requirements that many of our clients demand. You will be responsible for trading Currency, Futures/Options, Cash Equity and ETFs, with significant focus on Currency trading. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years previous trading experience. You will be a member of the London Trading team, working closely with other traders located in Boston and Hong Kong. This is very much a multi-asset trading role which brings a fantastic opportunity to trade for a wide range of investment teams at SSGA. This job is located in London, UK.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide coverage to the global Portfolio Management teams trading Currency, Futures/Options, Cash Equity and ETFs, with significant focus on Currency trading.
  • Responsible for ensuring execution quality, accuracy and timely execution of trades.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of trading capabilities and review of Transaction Cost Analysis.
  • Engage and communicate with executing brokers to gather market colour.
  • Add instrument expertise as business requirements dictate.
  • Dissemination of trade ideas, market news and commentary.
  • Solid understanding of markets, market forces, managing risk and market structure.
  • Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity within the business and ensure compliance with industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements in all matters.
  • Ensure close cooperation with support and oversight functions such as Portfolio Management, IT, Risk, Operations, Legal, Sales and Compliance.

Technical and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous trading experience required (covering any of: Equity, Futures/Options or Currency). With Currency trading experience preferred, but not required.
  • Exposure to Bloomberg an advantage.
  • IMC / IAQ / CFA qualifications a positive.
  • Operational experience of Currency, Futures/Options and Equity assets a positive.
