We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a Multi Skilled Motor Vehicle Tutor to become a key member of our Study Skills department.
Due to a growth in teaching, we are seeking a confident and motivated tutor that can help and support learners to develop their Motor Vehicle qualification along with embedding English and Maths.
You will work with lecturers to raise the learning and attainment of young people, while promoting their social inclusion, self-esteem and independence. You will get the opportunity to support students in the Motor Vehicle vocational areas of the college and ensure all students are provided with the most appropriate level of support to assist them to access the curriculum, participate in learning and fulfil their potential.
You will need to be able to use your own initiative while supporting learners, dealing with situations with tact and empathy. The need to be flexible in your approach is imperative. You will need to be qualified to GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths and ideally have experience of working with people with SEN.
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, flexible, and qualified to deliver Motor Vehicle to learners with varying levels of ability. This opportunity would suit either experienced lecturers or graduates with a willingness to undertake the appropriate development. We are ambitious for our learners and suitable applicants will possess the drive and determination to support and aspire learners to achieve.
All staff are required to be dedicated to education, training, skills and putting learners first. Learners are at the heart of everything we do. The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the Department, providing tutorial support for learners, and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position.
The successful candidate will need to be qualified in Motor Vehicle to Level 3 or above with industry experience.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
Have a Motor Vehicle Level 3 qualification or above
Industry experience – minimum off 3 years
Establish effective working relationships with young people
Have a good understanding of SEN learners
Monitor, support, and record learner progress
Provide innovative and stimulating training
Work as part of a team to achieve timely results
