Mackay Regional Council is currently seeking a Plant Operator - Backhoe to join the Civil Operations team based at the Calen Depot.

We are searching for someone who has experience with operating a Backhoe and knowledge/ experience in the construction and maintenance of roads and drainage.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Current General Construction Safety “White” Card
• Current QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence
• Current Certificate of Competency to operate Backhoe and other road construction plant and/or equipment e.g. skid steer loader, roller, loader.
• Extensive experience in driving single axle trucks in varying road conditions
• Extensive experience in operating road construction plant, preferably backhoe
• Extensive experience in construction/maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure
