Job Title: Multimedia & Communications Lead
Organization: Literacy in Action / Action alpha
Location: Estrie Region / Sherbrooke Office
Contract: $22/hr x 22 hrs/week /January 2025 - July 2025 (possibility of renewed contract)

Literacy in Action is a small, passionate nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the English-speaking communities of Quebec’s Estrie Region through literacy activities and services. We are collaborative, hands-on, and driven to create meaningful, innovative and intergenerational opportunities for adults and families. We are looking for a person who is interested to learn along with us as our organization grows and evolves. We seek a creative and motivated Media and Communications Lead to join our team and elevate our message, reach, and impact.
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Media and Communications Lead, you will be responsible for crafting and executing our communications strategy. You will develop this strategy as you build on what your predecessors have established. This role is perfect for a visionary self-starter who excels in graphic design, marketing campaigns, and storytelling. You will design promotional materials, manage campaigns, oversee our digital presence, and coordinate media outreach. Depending on your leadership skills and vision, you may also supervise interns or volunteers.
Responsibilities:

- Develop visually compelling graphics, presentations, and materials for online and offline campaigns.
- Design branding materials, including flyers, brochures, reports, and merchandise.
- Write and edit engaging content for newsletters, blogs, press releases, and social media.
- Co-design learning tools with program and service developers as needed.

- Create and manage content calendars for all social media platforms.
- Optimize website content, structure, and visuals to align with the organization’s goals.
- Engage with social media posts and respond to messages in inbox and comments online.
- Track analytics and engagement metrics to refine strategies and improve reach.
(20%)
- Plan and execute multi-channel promotional campaigns for programs, events,
and fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement innovative outreach
strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets.
(10-20%)
- Supervise and mentor volunteers or interns as needed.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive branding and
messaging.

outcomes.
