Description:
EDUCATION:
University Degree in Communications/Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Production, or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of relevant and recent experience capturing and editing video content for use in social media networks such as TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, and multimedia production. Experience with videography and photography in a professional setting is required.
SKILLS:
Intermediate technical skills utilizing Adobe Creative Software including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Final Cut Pro. Exceptional writing skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Excellent analytical, interpretive, conceptual and communication skills. Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with others. Dealing courteously and effectively with people including excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and set priorities to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent judgment and initiative. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other: Microsoft Office Suite including Word (Intermediate), Excel (Introductory) and PowerPoint (Introductory).Strong knowledge of social media content trends including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.Must be keenly in tune with current and emerging content trends on social media. Be able to think outside the box while maintaining the voice and sub-brand identity of the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director, Strategic Communications & Marketing the Multimedia Content Specialist role executes a wide variety of multimedia projects including high-quality video, photography, graphics, and written content. The role produces compelling content for the Lassonde School of Engineering’s social media channels â??including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and more - and websites for both organic and paid marketing and communications campaigns. The role supports the vision, purpose, values and strategic direction of the Lassonde School of Engineering and York University, and contributes to a positive, supportive student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.
