ABOUT THE TEAMS

We are seeking to fill multiple vacancies across the People branch, specifically in the Recruitment team and Establishments team. The branch is responsible for strategic and operational focussed HR advice and services to support business areas to meet their workforce needs.
The Recruitment team is responsible for assisting with end-to-end recruitment, providing guidance to hiring areas and candidates and making sure that all aspects of recruitment adhere to legislative and policy requirements.
The Establishments team is responsible for the maintenance of the department’s organisation structure, position management and costing details in the department’s Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) Aurion and associated business processes and rules.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Recruitment Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding functions in a fast-paced environment – including but not limited to:
  • Advertising
  • Onboarding (contractors as well as new and existing APS employees)
  • Drafting and issuing offers of employment in adherence to APS legislative requirements
  • Providing advice and reviewing selection processes
  • Managing Merit pools
  • Provide timely, effective, and efficient recruitment support and advice to stakeholders in line with legislative and policy requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to support best practice service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate HR data and HR records in a variety of different systems and databases including but not limited to our e-Recruitment system and Microsoft Office.
  • Assist in responding to incoming email and phone queries.

As an Establishments Officer, you will:

  • Manage the establishments’ function including the management of the department’s organisation structure in the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).
  • Manage positions in the HRMIS working with stakeholders to ensure positions are within the department’s funding.
  • Manage and evaluate establishment business rules and processes that provide a high level of data governance whilst ensuring customers are at the centre of the process.
  • Identify and provide feedback on efficiencies and opportunities to improve and/or streamline systems and processes
  • Manage restructures in the HRMIS as necessary by working with a range of stakeholders to ensure a timely implementation whilst maintaining a high level of data quality.
  • Undertake regular position data verification processes to ensure consistent high quality data accuracy.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals, including the development and support of complex relationships and maintaining internal and external networks.
  • Provide expert advice and interpretation of HR data, including preparing relevant strategic advice where required.
  • Contribute to project work across the section and branch, including collaboration and team work with others to achieve results.
