As a Municipal Engineer II, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the infrastructure of our community. This professional engineering position involves overseeing a variety of projects related to the design, and construction of transportation and storm water infrastructure. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external partners, and the public to ensure our projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • At least five years of experience as a Professional Engineer in project and program management, ideally within a municipal environment.
  • Eligibility for Professional Membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of municipal infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
  • Coordinate public and stakeholder consultations, ensuring community input is valued and integrated.
  • Oversee consultants and contractors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality.
  • Secure necessary approvals from municipal, provincial, and federal authorities.
  • Provide technical support and review during the construction and final acceptance phases of subdivision developments.
  • Represent the City on external technical committees, ensuring our interests are well-represented.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and efficiency.
  • Support other City departments with technical expertise and advice.
