Job Description
AECOM is searching for an Inspector for major municipal infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position based in Burnaby, BC. Projects primarily consist of water and wastewater treatment plants. The successful candidate will be assigned to a project based on their skillset and area of expertise.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Liaison on site with contractor, client, other approving authorities, including addressing resident concerns
  • Oversee daily on-site operations
  • Work closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, to ensure construction is in compliance with project specifications
  • Preparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting;
  • Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and client
  • Provide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor, with remote support from the Project Engineer
  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Carry out field inspections and communicating directly with construction team
  • Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculations
  • Complete surveys for the preparation of record drawings
  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; and
  • Training of entry-level employees.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a field role on water infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.); Certified Technician (C.Tech) or in the process of obtaining certification
  • Demonstrated experience with inspection of multiple trades including concrete construction, electrical trade construction, mechanical-piping construction or combination thereof.
