General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for growing the business within their designated region. The RSM is responsible for managing and developing all sales and marketing activities within the assigned region. Assurance of alignment with corporate goals and initiatives is critical. The RSM will effectively manage their region, ensuring that sales budgets, cost centers, and forecasts are well-planned and completed on time.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated sales experience in the agricultural industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and developing successful sales teams
- Knowledge and experience selling plant nutrition, precision liquid in-furrow starters, folio fertilizers, and micronutrients preferred
- Commitment to performance development with direct reports
- Previous experience managing budgets and sales forecasts
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
- Responsible for developing, overseeing, and executing accurate sales and expense budgets
- Develop and oversee the execution of the sales and marketing plan
- Responsible for growing the sales volume in the region
- Manage and coordinate the sales efforts of the various sales positions in the region
- Lead and motivate direct reports to achieve and exceed sales budgets
- Participate in annual strategic planning and budgeting process
- Responsible for the operation of terminals within the region, including inventory management
- Responsible for training and personal development of all direct reports
Manage accounts receivable as required to keep receivables current
Compensation and Benefits:
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $118,300 to $165,600. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for many benefits, such as vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
