WSP is currently initiating a search for a Nashville Local Area Business Leader for our Nashville/Brentwood, TN office.
The Nashville Local Area Business Leader will drive operational performance and growth while enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees, and partners. They are the local CEO of WSP within the bounds of our Delegation of Authority promoting internal collaboration and teamwork. The Local Area Business Leader will passionately lead their business service delivery location through WSP’s strategy focused on four pillars of success: Clients, Expertise, People & Culture and Operational Excellence. The Local Area Business Leader is the external face of WSP in that local area and may bring District or National Leaders to support growing the business to meet annual tactical and long-term strategic objectives. Of equal significance, the Local Area Business Leader has full accountability for operational performance, mastering internal dynamics of the business to ensure that deployment of resources advances business objectives.

Key performance indicators include organic growth, DSO, utilization, backlog, project erosion, inclusion and diversity, employee engagement, voluntary turnover, and demonstration of guiding principals.

Your Impact

Operational Excellence:

  • Responsible for financial and operational performance including supporting the District business P&L, revenue generation, project margin, DSO, project delivery, client satisfaction, staff utilization, safety and other financial metrics. Develops and executes local growth and business development strategy.
  • Drives rigor in business practices and supports organizational initiatives to drive performance.
  • Focuses on and inspires excellence in projects and project delivery.

People & Culture:

  • Advances the strategic direction of the Local Area and positions the Local Area for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan.
  • Encourages, supports, and promotes the technical and professional development of local WSP staff.

Who You Are

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or in a relevant field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 15+ years of relevant post education experience focusing on a combination of any of the following: Business and Operations Management, Business Development, Project Management
  • Program Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to build long-term, meaningful relationships with clients.
  • Ability to translate complicated technical information into sales messages.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, and craft approaches to challenging problems.
  • Collaboration and a partnering approach.
  • Excellent leadership and development skills.
  • Ability to influence and gain buy-in.
  • Demonstrated change management skills and expertise.
  • Experience with clients including state DOTs, municipal, county, private, and business partners in Location.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
