Description:
APRA AMCOS is a member-owned music rights management organisation, positioned at the intersection of music, data and technology. We have more than 119,000 members who are songwriters, composers and music publishers. We license organisations to play, perform, copy or record our members’ music, and we distribute the royalties to our members.
As a National Education & Outreach Representative at APRA AMCOS, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships , events and initiatives that drive community engagement and promote equity across our diverse membership and the broader music community. This role involves working closely with various internal teams and developing connections with external communities and industry . You will actively contribute to the delivery of events, initiatives, educational resources, programs and presentations that empower our members and expand their opportunities, promoting an inclusive music industry environment.
We are seeking an individual who can g row and maintain membership by delivering programs, initiatives and resources that resonate with music creators nationall y. The role will p romote equity and community engagement ensuring all music creators nationally have access to relevant resources and support regarding music rights and APRA AMCOS membership. You will c ollaborate across teams to identify and develop initiatives that expand opportunities and encourage inclusivity in the music industry , as well as c oordinate and d eliver educational presentations across educational institutions nationally ( virtually and physically ) .
This role can be based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office.
Responsibilities:
- Work with National Manager, Education and outreach with coordination and delivery of Education and Outreach membership projects and events, with a focus on community engagement and equity
- Guide the Outreach department’s activities to ensure alignment with the company’s Community Engagement Principles, Equity Action and Reconciliation Action Plans
- Work with Comms & Marketing and Events to develop and maintain initiatives and programs for members through a lens of community engagement and equity
- Actively maintain an up-to-date understanding of business practices, industry standards, trends and general knowledge of APRA AMCOS and the broader music industry
- Liaising with internal teams such as Songmakers , Live Music Office, Membership and Media Licensing to provide assistance and input into the delivery of their programs and creating relevant events and resources for their specific needs.
- Work with Education & Outreach in updating and delivering educational presentations, creating resources and delivering them to schools, TAFEs, universities and others as requested
- Liaising with Communications department to produce a series of resources (both online and physical) for members, potential members, teachers & students and general music industry.
- Maintain post event and educational presentation reporting
- Actively maintain an up-to-date understanding of business practices, industry standards, trends and general knowledge of APRA AMCOS and the broader music industry
Identify and deliver new projects to ensure the Education & Outreach objectives are met
To thrive in this role you will need:
- Proven experience in community engagement and education ideally in the music or creative industries.
- Experience in developing and managing programs and events that engage and educate diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of industry trends and a good understanding of the music business, APRA AMCOS, and its role in supporting members.
- Good organi s ational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to deliver educational presentations at educational institutions and speak in public at various music industry and community events.
