Description:
Title: National Fundraising Campaigns Officer
Reports to: National Fundraising Campaigns Manager
Contract type: Specified purpose contract (maternity leave cover)
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm with time flexibility including evening & weekend work required.
Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin office) working.
Office Days: Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday
Salary: €45,000 per annum

Our National Campaigns team is responsible for leading some of Ireland’s biggest and most inspiring fundraising campaigns and programmes such as our flagship Daffodil Day, breast cancer awareness campaign, or Relay for Life.
What you’ll do
As National Fundraising Campaigns Officer you will work collaboratively within our fundraising department, and beyond, to develop, deliver and market national fundraising campaigns to raise awareness, raise funds and help achieve the Irish Cancer Society’s vision.

YOU WILL HAVE:
An understanding of fundraising campaign planning and budgeting and the ability to initiate, design and deliver new fundraising activities.
Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to motivate, persuade and influence people at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will be a self-starter who works from your own initiative, holds a creative mind-set and an ability to identify opportunities.
A team player willing to work collaboratively and flexibly to achieve common goals.
Strong empathy with and compassion for the Society’s volunteers and supporters, and a passion for putting them first.
Results oriented with and focus on financial income targets and deadlines.
A desire to learn and develop your fundraising knowledge.

Your qualifications and experience
You will typically have c. 3 years’ of experience in campaigns or fundraising.
The Society measures experience based on the quality of the experience obtained, rather than in time passed and welcomes applicants at all stages of their career.
You will be tech savvy with experience in database and CRM systems, and across the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage.

Responsibilities:
National fundraising campaigns development support
Working with the team, to develop fundraising programmes for the National Campaigns fundraising calendar.
Identify and evaluate potential new fundraising campaigns/events and develop new initiatives for existing events.
Identify and initiate new recruitment channels or opportunities to build awareness of Irish Cancer Society fundraising campaigns and attract new and loyal participants.
Supporter, volunteer and stakeholder relationships
Develop and maintain relationships with all Campaign participants to reach fundraising potential and to create long term supporters.
Manage volunteers enlisted to help in all National Campaigns, including attending at events and managing event volunteers.
Assist in growing our Relay for Life programme, fostering positive relationships with Relay for Life committees across the country.
Planning and coordination
Create and coordinate supporter communication plans to increase fundraising and ensure supporter loyalty.
Assist in the management of the national fundraising campaigns calendar to ensure that campaigns are proceeding to agreed plans and report to National Campaigns Manager on the same.
Oversee the flow of creative approvals, copy and design review to ensure projects are delivered within deadlines.
Contract and manage external agencies and suppliers to ensure projects meet agreed objectives and to ensure cost effectiveness.
Analysis and reporting
Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records on the Society Dynamics database.
Prepare campaign reports and evaluations after all of the National campaigns to measure against KPI’s, increases or decreases in income and to provide insights into the campaigns performance.
Monitor market changes and opportunities and competitive activity.
Content development and marketing
Develop engaging content for use across channels
Create and write appeal letters and sponsorship packages.
Work with our communications and digital team to create effective communication plans
Assist with management of the Relay for Life Social Media accounts
