Description:

Kuehne+Nagel is looking for a dedicated Procurement Manager to join our growing national team. This position is based in our National Head Office in Melbourne.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and category management, ideally in a managerial or strategic role.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Experience in managing vendors, developing master frame agreements, and assessing vendor competencies.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with corporate and regional teams.
  • Expertise in creating procurement guidelines, work instructions, standardised reporting tools, and category management templates.
  • Strong understanding of real estate markets, pricing, and contracting, especially related to warehousing and leasing.

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

You will be part of our national team, adding your leadership expertise + skills to develop, implement + drive procurement strategies on a national level.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Yourprimary objective will be to proactively manage procurement activities mainlyfor fixed assets while driving sustainability with suppliers. You will do thisby working with a variety of internal + external stakeholders while focusing onthe following key objectives:

  • To develop + upskill procurement organisation to form a competence centre at country level.
  • To come up with procurement (sourcing + purchasing) related guidelines + work instructions in alignment with corporate or regional teams, ensuring delivery against business objectives.
  • To create standardised reporting tools, templates + dashboards to enhance transparency.
  • To monitor + ensure compliance across all procurement activities.
  • To develop category management tools + templates in alignment with corporate standards.
  • To manage vendors including development of master frame agreements + vendor databases, review + approve vendors, understanding their core competencies + competitive positioning.
  • To roll out implementation plan for all current + future tools related to the procurement activities in alignment with internal standards.
  • To drive activities that enhance savings, reduce cost ratios by developing + implementing structured processes through leveraging, bulk sourcing + optimisation.
  • To handle the leasing of real estate for warehousing, which includes understanding real estate markets, pricing, and contracting.
