Job Description
Summary
The National Service Manager plays a vital role, reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Retail Sales - Home Depot, and is crucial for long-term business growth. The NSM will be responsible for developing and guiding the implementation of the HD Service team business strategy, including implementing initiatives to generate/diversify sales revenue, and leading a team of Detailer Supervisors.
This position requires a self-motivated individual that can work independently to drive sales via a growth mindset framework and will need to provide key support of our national services teams. Looking for a personally driven individual who motivates others to excel. Responsibilities include building relationships, expanding business with existing stores, product training, participating in trade shows and innovation initiatives.
This role will serve as the primary contact, providing leadership, and meeting/exceeding sales goals and working cross functionally with internal departments – including Operations and marketing, customers and vendors. Must have the ability to generate respect and trust from staff, and external constituencies working collaboratively with colleagues to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coach a National team of Detailer Supervisors.
  • Develops a performance driven service team with relevant KPI´s and a related compensation structure.
  • Develop and implement service strategies to meet store leadership and associate needs.
  • Monitor service metrics, analyze customer feedback and address gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Hires and onboards talent; communicates effectively to foster an inclusive work environment, creates goal alignment, provides coaching through feedback, and development planning, and completes performance reviews on a bi-annual basis.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures relative to territory logistics.
  • Support Supervisors to manage talent and ensure staffing is maintained in all regions.
  • Travel (quarterly) to ensure territories are being maintained well working Supervisors and teams drive best placement and customer relations.
  • Work with internal partners/analysts to coordinate reset scheduling and staffing.
  • Develop and execute seasonal staffing strategy nationally.
  • Ensure all Hillman Canada policies and processes are followed by staff in the field.
  • Contributes to the vision and implementation of the strategic annual and long-range plans based on an in-depth understanding of business and sales activities
  • Use pos data to develop and execute account strategies aligned with overall channel and corporate strategies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with retail store, and commercial managers to further collaborate on how best to drive sales for the PRO business segment

Qualifications

  • Preferred, Bachelors’ degree in a business-related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, including a supervisory or lead role.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Proven experience managing service teams/national accounts/partnerships and driving business growth.
  • High energy, self-starter with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Effective, strong communication skills with senior leaders.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • High level of personal accountability.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive approval from various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Medium level of proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Words, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Travel required, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle is required for this role
  • Excellent time management, prioritization abilities and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make tough business and leadership decisions.
  • Completes all administrative job requirements.
  • Completes all business reporting requirements.
  • Maintains monthly planner and completes expense reporting requirements.
