Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
- A recognised qualification in either Arts and Crafts/or Level 3 Health & Social Care, teaching qualification or equivalent, or a willingness and ability to achieve both within an agreed period.
- Good level of IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle during working time and a willingness to travel as required
Responsibilities:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
At Botton Village this role:
- Is responsible for developing and co-ordinating the delivery of the Nature based Arts and Crafts programme.
- Leads a staff team in supporting adults with varying abilities to achieve their own individual target outcomes.
- Works with the Green Care Manager to achieve the aims of the Green Care Programme within the Trust’s bespoke framework.
- Works with other Green Care Programme Leads locally and nationally to share best practice, ensuring quality and approach is consistent across all our communities.
- Contributes expertise to the continual improvement of our Nature Based Arts and Crafts programme in meeting the individual outcomes of the people we support.
- Requires the post-holder to work flexibly and creatively to respond to the needs of people we support.
- Will deputise for the Green Care Manager as required.
- Will facilitate the delivery and accreditation of AQA structured courses for those who choose to follow this route
- Will be a leader eager to enable the Trust to deliver its Green Care commitments described above.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Weaving, willow making, felting, and various art projects using natural resources. Ensure the programme is engaging, educational, and aligns with environmental sustainability principles.
- The sourcing and management of natural materials required for the arts and crafts activities and ensuring the materials are sustainably harvested and stored properly.
- Fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and exploration.
- Engaging staff and participants in discussions about the natural materials being used and their ecological significance.
- Building relationships with local schools, community groups, and other environmentally aligned organisations to promote the programme. Organise events, exhibitions, and collaborations to showcase participants’ work and raise awareness about nature-based arts and crafts.
- Collecting feedback from participants and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness and impact of the programme. Continuously improving the programme based on this feedback and stay updated on best practices and new trends in nature-based arts and crafts.
- To ensure all team members work in accordance with policy, procedures, practices, and controls; to ensure that the correct and appropriate lines of communication are followed in relation to recording and reporting, having particular regard for the Trust’s health and safety requirements.
