Description:
Ipieca background
Ipieca is the global oil and gas industry association for advancing environmental and social
performance. It convenes a significant portion of the oil and gas value chain and brings
together the expertise of members and stakeholders to provide leadership for the industry on
advancing climate action, environmental responsibility, social performance and mainstreaming
sustainability.
In a world aspiring to a net-zero future, Ipieca acts as a catalyst to bring experts together
to advance member contributions to the pathways to a resilient low emissions future and uphold
Ipieca’s position as part of the international dialogue on the energy transition. Ipieca is
also the industry’s principal channel of communication to the United Nations. Our unique
position within the industry enables our members to contribute effectively to the sustainable
development agenda.
By doing this, Ipieca helps the oil and gas industry manage its environmental impact and
address climate risks while it works to meet the increasing demand for energy.
