Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To provide and maintain navigation related oversight of the network by handling EUROCONTROL related messages, preparing flight documentations, providing data for the duty manager of operations. The Navigation Officer supports. Briefs and assists the PIC in the safe conduct of each flight.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Navigation Officer is responsible for:
- Reporting to the Duty Manager on daily operational matters
- Preparation and submission of ATS flight plans
- Preparation of Operational Flight Plans
- Providing necessary information to crew
- Monitoring flight operations and where the safety of a flight is in doubt, advise the Duty Manager to initiate the necessary actions
- Make position information of a flight in distress available to the appropriate organizations as established by the State
- Carrying out and monitoring the daily program
- Handling CTOTs through CFMU-CHMI and/or NOP portal
- Monitoring Weather/NOTAMS for changes/updates
- Collecting and evaluating information of irregular circumstances to secure optimal decisions making (weather information, airport availability)
- Ensuring suitable take off alternate airport is selected and specified in the OFP whenever either the weather conditions at the airport of departure are at or below the applicable airport landing minima
- Ensuring flights are planned not to exceed maximum performance and structural take-off and landing weight limits based upon environmental conditions expected at the time of departure and arrival
- Liaising with staff and agencies at outstations on all matters concerning Company navigational requirements
- Calculating Fuel Requirements for flights in accordance with the provisions of the OM
- Data publication to agents both at home bases and outstations
- Information re-distribution
- Maintaining system database
- Filling the daily electronic handover
