Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Neonatal Team.
We are a 24-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, level 3 , within the Cheshire and Mersey Neonatal Network. providing care for infants and their families from 22 weeks and above.
To practice within the Rules, Code of Practice and Professional Conduct of the NMC.
To keep up to date with current neonatal practice, demonstrating an awareness of research and evidence-based practice.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a defined group of patients for whom you are responsible, under the guidance of senior staff.
To participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in developing and maintaining a system of family centred care.
To advise on the promotion of health, recognising the physical, emotional, and social situations that may influence the needs of the mother, baby, and family.
To take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the babies and their families.
Where responsible for the custody and administration of drugs, to carry this out according to Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust Policies and Procedures.
To support, and assist junior staff, including learners with their personal and professional development. To act as an effective mentor when required and help in the evaluation of the training programme and students undertaking it.
To carry out the administration of intravenous drugs and infusions according to the neonatal unit drugs and infusion protocols.
To care for infants requiring special/intensive care under supervision from senior staff.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have an enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.
As this vacancy is within the division of Women’s and Children’s, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment
