Description:
42.
It’s the answer to the “ultimate question of life, the universe and everything"—well, at least according to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
You didn’t ask to be born, but here you are, and the meaning of life is whatever you want it to be.
You want to change the world, lives and whole industries with your skills as a .NET Developer, but many of you get bogged down in developing stuff that doesn’t change anything except your company’s profits.
Instead, help the world plot a greener future and achieve the ambitious Paris Agreement target of net zero by 2050, which over 140 countries set in 2016.
You’ll join a 20-person team that creates bespoke, greenfield mathematical models and forecasting tools that help governments and other energy decision-makers across Europe to design better renewable energy and sustainability policies.
For example, they recently consulted with the government on a now-published paper about changing how the UK prices energy.
The team built a bespoke model that revealed that the UK could unlock between £5-£15 billion in benefits to the British electricity system and households.
Your immediate challenges include modelling brand-new energy markets across Europe, improving the user workflow when using these models, and building a good understanding of the energy market.
You’ll engage with clients and stakeholders, design and code solutions, and enjoy considerable autonomy in achieving the strategic goals.
You’ll enjoy a 35-hour working week and a benefits package reflecting the level of fairness and care this company is known for.
Lastly, inclusivity is more than just a PR soundbite. For example, they achieved 13 DEI awards in the last five years and their LGBT+, women’s, multicultural and well-being networks tackle significant issues and unite their people.

Work Location – Hybrid – Twice a week in Central London.
