Description:

The Nak’azdli Employment & Training Services (NETS) Coordinator shall coordinate the Nak’azdli Employment Training Service (NETS) to provide resources, training funding and supports to meet client requirements for pre-employment training and upgrading for those entering or re-entering the workforce.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma plus other relevant training or education
  • Employment coaching and/or training background
  • Certified Aboriginal Employment Development Certificate
  • Effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail
  • Advanced typing skills and minute taking
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • High degree of professionalism, honesty and confidentiality
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license and clear criminal records check

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer the NETS program, budgets and staff.
  • Coordinate the Bladerunners, Youth Mentorship, Indigenous skills and Training programs.
  • Develop employee workplans with staff to ensure maximum time management to track progress.
  • Deliver NETS services to eligible Nak’azdli Band members and community employers.
  • Network with other community and service organizations to coordinate employment, education and training services and to minimize duplication of services.
  • Build relationships with industry to plan employment and training opportunities.
  • Build employment partnerships and develop training programs with industry.
  • Write and submit proposals to access program funding for program delivery.
  • Interview clients to develop goals based on education, experience and aspirations.
  • Develop needs assessment based on each individual client’s needs and an action plan.
  • Identify barriers and work with clients to determine next steps, resume development job searches.
  • Work with employers and band departments to determine training and experience opportunities.
  • Maintain and expand employer and community resource networks.
  • Provide quarterly reports and financial activities to PGNAETA.
  • Other relevant tasks as may be necessary.
