QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering required with a minimum of 5+ years of experience required or the equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Cisco CCNA or CCDA desired, CCNP or CCDP certification in switching and routing preferred.
  • Certifications or demonstrated mastery (manufacturers test results) on one of the two primary platforms SONIFI deploys (HPE-Aruba, Ruckus) or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have strong interaction/communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Must have an ability to balance company business needs along with technical considerations.
  • Prefer developed scripting skills and are willing to pursue learning additional languages and skills, such as Python, Ansible.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Functions in a lead network architecture role by contributing technical expertise, tactical leadership, design validation for complex IP system designs and supporting Sales, Product, Engineering and Operations team initiatives to deliver Internet Services solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional leadership team to formulate and advance Internet Services architectural strategy and direction using current and emerging technologies.
  • Functions in a leadership role by contributing direction and technical expertise to support the work of Internet Service stakeholder teams (Associate Network Architects, Network Engineering, Technical Assistance Center, Solution Designers).
  • Performs design, development, documentation, analysis and validation for complex projects on both new and existing systems based on customer requirements, company business objectives, and design specifications.
  • Functions in a thought contributor role while attending customer and partner events.
  • Contributes to NetArch efforts to provide documents & training materials for knowledge transfer & equipping of internal and external disciplines when launching new products.
  • Communicates with Installations, Field Service and TAC during initial phases for new product testing. Leads alpha/initial site configuration and turn up steps to validate procedures and success criteria. Contributes to efforts to incorporate configuration or process changes identified during initial field testing.
  • Participate in engagements with technology vendors on product evaluations, technical issues, and potential system solutions. Works to develop and maintain technical vendor relations.
  • Perform work required to assess effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Tests and validates new hardware for possible use in deployed applications.
  • Contribute to and lead software integration efforts with various network equipment vendors through testing and writing automation code with guidance from the Senior Network Architect.
