Responsibilities:
Verizon seeks an energetic, creative, business-oriented attorney to partner with and provide legal support, including strategic planning, negotiation, implementation and management of our network infrastructure agreements and other strategic initiatives, to Verizon’s Central Texas, Central Gulf Coast, and Southwest submarkets in the GN&T organization. The position requires a business partner willing to collaborate with and support this dynamic team from brainstorming through execution and ongoing support to ensure the success of these critical deals. The ideal candidate will be a team player with significant legal experience in reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, with the ability to provide sound legal advice to internal client groups as requested, to collaborate with other internal business partners supporting this client, to prioritize and complete high-level urgent matters efficiently and decisively, and to supervise outside counsel where appropriate. The candidate must be a strategic thinker, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have significant transactional experience, demonstrated good judgment, and a proven track record of advising clients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Network Counsel will handle substantial responsibilities under the supervision of the Managing Associate General Counsel, including the following responsibilities

Drafting and negotiating network infrastructure agreements, including for new construction of towers and small cells and other wireless facilities, and related agreements.
- Developing expertise and deep understanding of the network infrastructure deployed by the Network client group in order to provide day to day guidance and support related to network infrastructure and related agreements, including contract interpretation and drafting and review, risk assessment, dispute resolution, implementation guidance and operational support.
- Creating and providing periodic legal training to internal and external stakeholders, including submarket field teams and outside counsel, as necessary to successfully. implement and support such agreements and initiatives.
- Advising on strategies to lower network real estate costs.
- Supervising outside counsel’s work in support of this client group (including transactional, litigation and zoning matters).
- Counseling internal clients on a range of legal issues relating to real estate and regulatory compliance matters impacting Verizon’s network deployment and operation.
- Supporting strategic projects and other tasks or responsibilities assigned by Managing Associate General Counsel.
