Description:
BCMC is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of a new DevOps infrastructure and advanced cybersecurity capabilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Must have an active/current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
- Must be able to work first shift schedule
- Must be able to travel domestically
- Must be able to support on-site work (Position is hybrid, with a minimum of 20% on-site work requirement)
- 4+ years of professional networking experience with TCP/IP networking, VPN encryption, firewalls, and SNMP-based network management experience
- In depth knowledge and advanced troubleshooting experience in regard to Layer 2 functionality and protocol in a Cisco/Juniper environment
- Experience with troubleshooting and implementing Layer 3 routing protocols over a multi-site environment in a Cisco/Juniper environment
- Must have strong knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting IPSEC VPN and firewall architecture
- Must have a strong knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols
- Experience using network monitoring and automation tools for troubleshooting and task simplification
- Technical understanding of cybersecurity attack techniques and associated mitigation techniques
- Experience troubleshooting and implementing VPN technologies
- Experience implementing firewall base policies using Juniper firewalls
- Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure networking and connectivity to on-prem environments
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering or a related discipline is required. [Six (6) years of experience (for a total of ten (10) or more years) may be substituted for a degree.]
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Agile Scrum teams as a key contributor responsible for the implementation of advanced network communications and cybersecurity capabilities, including the selection of hardware and software and the design of infrastructure services required to enable the cybersecurity capabilities.
- Fully develop and configure solutions for networking devices to include firewalls, load balancers, routers, and switches
- Implement firewall policies as requested by administrators from other teams
- Perform break fix actions/O&M, to include physically on-site as needed
- Upgrading and maintaining network device software for compliance and vulnerabilities
- Sustainment of ISA networking architecture
- Data center hardware management to included racking and de-racking hardware occasionally, as needed
- Monitors the status of the network and responds to issues/tickets requests that occur using network monitoring and performance tools
- Work with engineering to developing high quality technical documentation, including user guides, test plans, and contract deliverable items and supporting product line training.
