Description:

We are looking for a skilled network engineer to join our international team in the Netherlands. You will be a key player in developing and maintaining our domain name system, dynamic host configuration protocol, and IP address management services across our global data centers. Your work will be critical to ensuring the uptime, performance, and security of our systems, which are essential for serving our customers worldwide.
Together we build on existing and new technologies, increase security and availability for ING’s internal and external assets. You will participate in agile work processes such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and planning. Together with the Product Owner, the team (Squad) works on common goals and a shared backlog related to DDI & anti-DDoS services. We use video and collaboration tools to facilitate the communication process.

SKILLS:

  • Expertise in DNS, DHCP and IP address management: Significant experience with Infoblox infrastructure, including design, operations and lifecycle management.
  • Experience in secure infrastructures and event monitoring: Proficiency in creating and maintaining secure network environments, along with monitoring events to ensure system stability and security.
  • Automation and programming skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with configuration tools like Ansible or Terraform. Your scripting skills help in automating processes and improving efficiency.
  • Network security experience: Understanding of anti-distributed denial of service implementations and network security.
  • IP engineering with network security focus: Solid understanding of network security principles.
  • Agile and DevOps knowledge: Familiarity with agile practices and the DevOps way of working, including continuous delivery, cross-functional team setups and the development of cross-skilled squad members.
  • Scrum methodology: Working-level knowledge of Scrum practices, including backlog management, sprint planning and conducting reviews.

Responsibilities:

You deliver standard, self-service infrastructure services to the Global IT consumers together with your squad. You can move all typical user stories and tasks from “To-Do” to “Done.”
Your primary focus is maintaining the DDI services, secondary on the development of self service capabilities for our internal consumers. You are primarily end-to-end responsible for our Infoblox DDI assets, handling operational requests (internal consumers) and innovation. This includes monitoring, risk, incident and change management of our appliances and services.

Your role also includes:

  • Operational management of DNS infra (e.g. support migrations, LCM, incident handling)
  • Improvement of monitoring and alerting of our services
  • Consultancy for internet network implementations and domain management
  • Keep squad members up-to-date on local developments, improvements, and alerts
  • Participate in incidents, changes, and improvements for the Global Datacenters
  • Occasional standby / on-call duty is part of your responsibilities
