The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site in Chippenham.

We’re seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a passion for cutting-edge technology and a drive to deliver reliable, high-performance network solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and network security solutions.
- Configure and manage Cisco and Dell networking equipment (routers, switches, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Administer and monitor firewalls (Cisco and Juniper) to maintain network security and integrity.
- Utilise SolarWinds Orion for proactive network monitoring and management, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager) for optimised application delivery and load balancing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other IT systems and applications.
- Monitor and enforce network policies, security measures, and compliance standards.
- Provide support for network incidents, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and resolve network outages promptly.
- Participate in network capacity planning, upgrades, and future technology strategies to improve performance and scalability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
- Proven experience in Cisco and Dell network hardware and configurations.
- Hands-on experience with firewall administration (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX) and network security best practices.
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Orion.
- Expertise in Application Delivery Networks using F5 LTM for traffic management and load balancing.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on network performance, security, and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud networking solutions.
