Description:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of the Networking and Security Technologies. These systems include physical, virtual, and cloud-based technologies. The role focuses on optimizing uptime, performance, resource allocation, and security to meet and exceed organizational needs. Additionally, the Network Engineer proactively analyzes existing systems and applications and provides recommendations for improvements and remediation’s for network shortcomings.

Your Impact:

  • Install, configure and support, and maintain network infrastructure equipment that exceed minimum best practices.
  • Evaluate network architecture and make performance enhancement recommendations.
  • Create and update accurate documentation including, but not limited to network diagrams, processes, and knowledge base articles.
  • Work as part of a team to or as a contributor to complete Network Projects and provide technical assistance to team members with projects and tasks.
  • Be available and responsive during business hours for meetings, and business communications.
  • implement core stack solutions, firewall, switches, and wireless technologies.
  • Document and maintain network processes / policies. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Provide mentoring to additional staff where needed to help empower technical growth.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and make recommendations on network and security standards leveraging best practices.
  • Speak to proposed network changes and potential impacts of dependent technologies within a Change Advisory Board.
  • Work with internal customers/partners to resolve network issues and provide complex technology solutions.
  • Drive outage/service performance impact through ServiceNow.
  • Provide after-hours support (as needed) for network changes, enhancements, and problem resolution.
  • Engage with vendors for required support and guidance when required.
  • Pro-actively review information from vendors and relevant 3rd parties, to plan for any required system updates and/or required vulnerability remediation actions.

Successful Candidate will Have:

  • Must have expert knowledge in device configuration, security policies, and application deployment using Fortigate Firewalls, FortiWifi, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer, in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Must have configuration and management experience of Cisco switches through deployment, patching and configuration management.
  • Strong understanding of Azure landing zones, subscriptions, and resource groups. Familiarity with network security groups and HA failover in a cloud environment, multi-regional failover, and Azure design concepts for a highly elastic and efficient cloud environment. Must possess a strong understanding of network security in the cloud. Recognizes dependencies and makes recommendations to remediate vulnerabilities.
  • ServiceNow or relevant CMDB: Must have experience with change management and incident handling practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an understanding of incident priorities and resolution.
  • Expert knowledge in vulnerability remediation across network configurations and devices in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Network Monitoring: Must have experience in network monitoring. The ideal candidate will be able to proactively identify network issues and act on the remediation process while following the process for business communication and technology implementation.
  • Must have proven experience in troubleshooting complex network issues across the OSI stack, in both physical and virtual environments. A customer centric approach, and sense of urgency to reach resolution, is required to ensure business impact during events is kept to a minimum.
  • 3-5 years minimum of experience network implementations, diagramming, code updating and firmware patching, project planning, and management of third party vendors.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
  • Network protocols: BGP, Static Routing, SD-WAN, SASE, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN (IPSec/SSL)
  • Configuration and maintenance of Fortigate Firewalls and Access Points, Cisco Switches
  • Exposure to additional firewall and switch vendors/technology preferred
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA or higher)

At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $100,000.00 - $130,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
